The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) showed the way to success in life

Our lives are just a matter of time. There is no one in this moment of the world who does not want to drink the juice of success. When a person succeeds in his desired goal. This is his success.

In the Holy Qur'an, Allah sets the standard for the success of human life - He who created death and life so that He may test you as to which of you is best in deeds. And He is the Almighty, the Most Forgiving. (Surah Mulk, verse 2)

Aiming at the purpose of creating human life, Allah says that the person who does righteous deeds is the greatest.

Introducing good deeds, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: He is a good doer, one who avoids the forbidden things of Allaah the most and is always looking forward to obedience to Allaah. (Qurtubi)

But for some of us, the name of success is to acquire huge amount of wealth. Again, for many, owning a huge amount of wealth. Or success is the name of gaining a huge reputation. The world is called the field of the Hereafter.

The life of the believer in this world and in the Hereafter is obstructed by the same formula. Therefore, none of these can be the measure of a believer's success in this life and in the hereafter.

Allah declares in the Holy Qur'an: Surely the believers are successful who are humble in their prayers. And those who turn away from vain talk. And those who are active in zakat.

And those who guard their chastity. Except their wives and their right hands, they will not be blamed for it. Then whoever desires other than these, then they are the transgressors. And those who care about their trusts and promises. And those who guard their prayers. They will be the heirs. Those will be entitled to paradise. They will stay there. (Surah Muminun, verses 1-11)

Achieving the fear of God is one of the criteria for success in life. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): The most honorable of you in the sight of Allaah is the most pious of you. Surely Allah is Knowing, Aware. (Surah Hujrat, verse 13)

He who fears Allah will be honored in this world and in the Hereafter. Everyone believes in him, loves him. Elsewhere, Allah says: He who fears Allah, He makes for him a way out. And he will provide for her from a source she never imagined. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. (Surah Talaq, verses 2-3)

In addition, Allah Almighty has described many paths of success in life in the Holy Qur'an. One way to do this is to be successful without stinginess: Fear God as much as you can, listen, obey and spend. It is good for you. Those who are free from stinginess of mind are the successful. (64 Surah Tagabun: 17)

Through the command of good deeds and the prohibition of evil deeds, our individual, family and social life becomes as beautiful. That's how success comes in life. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): And there should be a party among you who call to the good and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and these it is that shall be successful. (3 Surah Al-Imran: 104)

Obedience to Allah and His Messenger is the ultimate path to success in this world and in the Hereafter. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): And whoever obeys Allaah and His Messenger, and fears Allaah and fears Allaah, then those are the successful. (Surah Noor, verse 52)

The life of this world is very fleeting. In a hadith about the insignificance of the world, it is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by a dead goat with its ears cut off and said, ‘Who among you would like to take it for one dirham? They said, "We would not like to take it in exchange for anything."

Then he said, by God! As much as it is worse for you, it is worse for Allah than the world (and its wealth) (Muslim, Mishkat H / 5156).

In the desire to attain the world, let us not neglect to attain the good deeds of the Hereafter. Only when we are able to attain eternal bliss will there be true success in our lives.

Allah says: Every soul must taste death. On the Day of Resurrection, your deeds will be repaid in full. The one who is kept away from the fire and allowed to enter Paradise is the successful. And the life of this world is nothing but deceptive enjoyment. The Qur'an (Surah Al-Imran: 185)
